Breastfeeding Babies Has Given Clear Proof That All Children Have The Same Potential For Growth Regardless Of Genetic Or Ethnicity (Important)

I had talked about the idea of extending the time range for breastfeeding for optimal child nutrition in the post “What If Breastfeeding Human Milk Is Extended Or Synthesized To Increase Height?“. I had theorized back then that it might be smarter for babies to end up bigger to increase the time for breastfeeding We already know that for the young baby with mostly multipotent stem cells the best type of nutrition is from the mother’s milk. However there seems to be people who are disagreeing over the natural breastfeeding vs. synthetic formula. This post will extend the idea of breastfeeding vs. formula to show that there are possible even more benefits.

Breastfeeding as been shown to be superior towards babies getting taller, but not fatter, and that means that the breastfeed child will probably have less change of development health problems later in life due to being overweight.

I think this study has shown with convincing evidence that there may not be any ethnicity or even groups of people who have any type of genetic propensity towards high stature.

Sure there will always be small pockets of people or certain families which have genes which make them taller than the rest of a ethnic group or “tribe” but this study suggest that through at least the act of the normal breastfeeding instead of giving our babies formula, we can standardized the growth progression (height increase) charts for all of the countries in the world.

From the website KellyMom.com, the article states…

“The problem is that many doctors are not familiar with the normal weight gain patterns of breastfed babies, and rely too much upon older growth charts that are based upon the growth of artificially fed babies. In 2006, the World Health Organization released revised growth charts that are representative of healthy breastfed babies throughout the world. Until doctors are familiar with them,…”

This shows that the data from the old medical & health organizations were using information from synthetically fed babies. The charts are off because babies fed with formula grow in weight much faster.

The writer makes an excellent point with….

“Healthy breastfed infants tend to grow more rapidly than their formula-fed peers in the first 2-3 months of life and less rapidly from 3 to 12 months. All growth charts available before 2006 (which are still used by many health care providers in the US) included data from infants who were not exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months (includes formula-fed infants and those starting solids before the recommended 6 months). Because many doctors are not aware of this difference in growth, they see the baby dropping in percentiles on the growth chart and often come to the faulty conclusion that the baby is not growing adequately. At this point they often recommend that the mother (unnecessarily) supplement with formula or solids, and sometimes recommend that they stop breastfeeding altogether.”

Later in the article the writers notes that the old charts that are used was from studies done from 1929-1975 of babies from ages 0-2 whose mother started feeding them solid foods by age 4 months or earlier and the data was for mothers who fed their babies milk and formula as a combination. The revised growth charts was for mothers who fed their babies solid food after 6 months as now recommended and predominantly feeds the baby breast milk.

From the website BabyCenter.com

Some first asks the question “Is it true that breastfed babies grow more slowly than formula-fed babies?”

Babies who are breastfed for the first year of life seem to grow more rapidly in the first three or four months and then more slowly for the rest of the year. At age 1, breastfed babies weigh less, on average, than formula-fed babies.

Experts aren’t sure why this is so, but they do know that it’s absolutely normal and nothing to be concerned about. In fact, some research suggests that babies who grow too quickly may have higher cholesterol levels, higher blood pressure, and increased risk of obesity and diabetes later in life.

In 2006, the World Health Organization (WHO) published a brand-new set of growth charts based on 8,500 babies who were breastfed. The mothers participating in the study planned to breastfeed exclusively or predominately for the first four to six months and to continue breastfeeding for at least 12 months.

Before 2006, the growth charts that tracked babies’ length and weight gain – created by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 1977 and updated in 2000 – were based on babies who were fed formula or a combination of formula and breast milk.

Implications For Height Increase

The growth of a human individual is the most critical in their earliest years. I had shown from other posts that during the first year of life, a child can grow as much as 12 inches longer. After that, around the age 2-4 they average around 4-5 inches a year. Since the goal of our website is to try to optimize the growth pattern to reach the highest final height possible, it is important to consider whether it might be smarter to go with breastfeeding the baby exclusively for upwards of even 1 year so that the baby can keep their metabolism lower to not overstimulate the growth system. The studies do show that the breastfed baby in comparing length/height with the baby fed with formula was about the same. The formula fed baby was bigger only in terms of weight.

What we know from our research is that growth is overstimulated too early in life, that causes earlier puberty resulting in earlier growth plate closure and decreased final height. Since the benefits of breast feed babies are that they weigh less while still keeping the same rate of height growth, I strongly suggest that the baby should move towards breastmilk diet much longer than most physicians would recommend. 4 years of medical school learning with a couple of years of residency at pediatric hospital clinics is not enough to overide the natural tendencies of the billions of years of evolution which is dictated by Mother Nature’s wisdom.

Abstract

The World Health Organization Multicenter Growth Reference Study is a multinational project to develop new growth references for infants and young children. The design combines a longitudinal study from birth to 24 months with a cross-sectional study of children aged 18 to 71 months. The pooled sample from the six participating countries (Brazil, Ghana, India, Norway, Oman, and the United States) consists of 8440 children. The new WHO Child Growth Standards confirm that all children worldwide, given an optimum start in life, have the same potential for growth and prove that differences in children’s growth to the age of 5 years are more influenced by nutrition, feeding practices, environment, and healthcare than by genetics or ethnicity. The new standards are based on the breast fed child as the norm for growth and development. For the first time, this ensures coherence among the tools used to assess growth and national and international infant feeding guidelines, which recommend breast feeding as the optimal source of nutrition during infancy.

Analysis & Interpretation

The statement we should be taking away from this abstract is ” The new WHO Child Growth Standards confirm that all children worldwide, given an optimum start in life, have the same potential for growth and prove that differences in children’s growth to the age of 5 years are more influenced by nutrition, feeding practices, environment, and healthcare than by genetics or ethnicity.”

The growth patterns and charts are from tabulated data of babies who are fed breastmilk. If the potential for growth is the same, we could ask why is it that some ethnicities seem to end up smaller and shorter than others. Why is it that Vietnamese females are so much shorter than Dutch females, often by upwards of 12 inches or more?

The chart shows that their growth patterns ar the same, so that in terms of the changes in growth rates over each year, the same shape of the growth curve line is the same. What is most likely the case is that the mother of the babies were smaller/shorter and their uterus/wombs were smaller so a smaller baby with less overall cell numbers could be inside the womb prenatally. The postnatal patterns are the same. It is just that the baby at birth is just smaller than the baby born in other nations due to the limitations of the body size of the mother. If a baby is born from an ethnicity which is supposed to be idiopathically small but comes out healthy with the same length and weight from a mother with a large womb and tall height, and they are fed breast-milk for an extended time, the growth pattern shows that they are likely to end up the same final height as their supposed counterparts in other nations. What I would argue then is that the real limiting factor is the size theperson comes out when they are first born.

However, the side note to always realize is that the growth patterns are an average of thousands of babies growth progression. Each individual with their immediate families genetics will deviate from the average which is of an entire nation or group of people.

Undernutrition May Cause Catch-Up Growth Leading To Premature Puberty And Stunted Growth (Important)

This study I found from PubMed seems to give a strong connection to a few ideas I’ve been thinking about for the last few months over why premature puberty is occurring which would almost always lead to shorter final adult height.

Is early puberty triggered by catch-up growth following undernutrition?

Abstract

Undernutrition during fetal and postnatal life is still a major problem in many low- and middle-income countries. Even in high-income countries malnutrition may exist in cases of intrauterine growth retardation, as well as in chronic conditions such as anorexia nervosa and inflammatory bowel disease. Children adopted from developing countries are often chronically malnourished. Nutritional rehabilitation, resulting in catch-up growth, is often complicated by influences originating in fetal life as well as during postnatal growth. This may result in hormonal and metabolic changes as well as alterations in pubertal development. The present review focuses on fetal, postnatal and fetal-postnatal undernutrition and subsequent catch-up growth as well as catch-up growth in relation to pubertal development. Catch-up growth in children can be associated with early puberty following fetal or combined fetal-postnatal undernutrition. However, early puberty does not seem to occur following catch-up growth after isolated postnatal undernutrition. Gonadotropins have been reported to be elevated in prepubertal adopted girls as well as during catch-up growth in animals. Even if other factors may contribute, linear catch-up growth seems to be associated with the timing of pubertal development. The mechanisms behind this are still unknown. Future research may elucidate how to carry out nutritional rehabilitation without risk for early pubertal development.

Analysis & Interpretation

The main conclusion made by the author of the article is that linear catch-up growth seems to be associated with the timing of pubertal development.  One of the main ideas we as height increase researchers have always believed is that the onset of puberty means that the end of growth has been initiated. I personally believe from the research is that if puberty is never initiated in terms of excess estrogen being released into the system, the rate at which chondrocytes in the resting zone of the growth plate are being used up will not be great enough to completely result in all the chondrocytes being used up but that their will be some chondrogenic process going on in the epiphysis causing the progenitor mesenchyme to differentiate into newly formed chondrocytes thus replenishing the numer of chondrocytes in the resting zone.

There is no doubt that malnutrition which will lead to stunted growth rates and decreased final height is a big problem is mostly developing and even some developed nations, due to poor eating habits where children who are still growing go for the food with very little nutrients. It seems that not only malnutrition, anorexia nervosa and inflammatory bowel disease also leads to stunted growth. As for the developing nations, it seems that when children is taken out of these nutrition deprived places and placed in nations where the nutrition is high, their bodies go into the process of  “catch-up growth” which is the bodies of way of accelerating the longitudinal growth oto sort of “catch-up” to watch its supposed growth would supposed to be if the individual was born in a nation where the nutrition was at the appropriate higher levels.

The researcher does note this point though….

“However, early puberty does not seem to occur following catch-up growth after isolated postnatal undernutrition”

I am not sure what this phrase means exactly. Does this mean that if a children is taken from a country of undernutrition where they were isolated from other people, the catchup growth they get after being transplanted to a nation with better nutrition, they would not develop early puberty?

I understand the main point the researcher is trying to make but I do hope that they can explain this phrase though.

Implications For Height Increase

This shows that in general, there might be a way to help children with stunted growth which parents might try to adopt from poorer nation. However, the catch-up growth seen in the child may just be another indicator that they will ultimately end up with a decreased final height since the elevated hormones associated with the dramatic change in in the amount of nutrition the child is getting from a change in countries results in the earlier initiation of puberty. For the parents who want to make sure their adopted child gets to grow to be the tallest that they can, it might be a better idea to not increase the nutrition rate so dramatically to push back the onset of puberty to give the child’s body more time to grow taller.

Increase Height And Grow Taller By Clamping The Calcaneus Laterally

Something that I have been thinking about recently is the idea of maybe doing something to the bones that make up the overal human height that does not involve the usual long bones, the femur and tibia.

Can we do something to the vertebrate and the intervertebral discs which would be able to make the torso longer? What about the skull?

One irregular bone which we have not really looked at has been the back, heel bone in the human feet which makes the very bottom of the human body. This is the calcaneus.

In terms of bone deformation, the Calcaneus would probably be a very hard, touch bone to remodel, if we can do it at all. This one bone is supposed to be able to supposed 100-200 lbs of human flesh on top of it for around 75-80 years which is the average life expectancy of humans today.

Since humans still are walking at lot, the bottom end of the calcaneus is being hit over and over again everyday. It has around 200 lbs of flesh pushing it against the hard surface ground. If we are to apply the old remodeling principle of Wolff’s Law, the bottom end of the calcaneus would get thicker over time. But it doesn’t, or at least not a level which we can notice a big measurable difference.

So I am proposing the idea that maybe we should try to get a clamp and place a lateral load on both sides of the calcaneus of the heel area to see whether it would cause the bone on the side to remodel, and as a result also remodel the bottom of the calcaneus to gain a few millimeters of bone thickening.

The concept of LSJL is to use clamps to laterally load the bulging epiphysis in the synovial joints of our limbs. If there are mesenchyme that will differentiate into chondrocytes and be able to push the long bone’s hard cortical bone in such a way to stimulate longitudinal growth, would the same work for an irregular bone? I note that most bones have cavities at the center similar to the intermedullary cavity of the tibia and femur. In this cavity is the marrow or intercellular fluid which would have some progenitor mesenchyme which comprise of the red stem cells and the yellow adiposed-derived mesenchymal pluripotent stem cells.

If there is enough progenitor cells in the cavity filled matrix in the hard, strong calcaneus, putting intermittent, strong lateral loads on the calceneus might result in a similar effect to the LSJL basic principles. Will it however produce the same types of growth factors to simulate chondrogenesis and then proliferation? I am not sure.

Short Females Who Only Date Tall Males May Secretly Desire To Be Tall Themselves And Vice Versa

Update 7/11/2013: I am proposing a term to describe this phenomena where I suggest the theory that most people who ONLY desire to date tall individuals of the opposite sex (this also applies to gays) at some conscious or unconscious level wish to be tall themselves. They feel lacking in this area of their life which they can’t do anything about and have no control over and try to compensate or even OVERcompensate for their own lack of stature by looking for someone who is not exactly opposite of them, but compliments them so that their own PERCEIVED defects may be covered up, and will not be passed on to their children.

I term this phenomena “Complimentary Mating Strategy” with a focus on “extreme height discrepancies within mating partners”.

The person is consciously or unconsciously looking for a person who can make their insecurities be relieved and weaknesses to be hidden.

This will affect people who have low self esteem and no self image of themselves. No matter how much fame and glamour they have and people telling them they are a good person, if they have the internal voice inside of them which is causing them to have a bad image of who they are, they will choose this strategy which I am going to coin in this post  called Complimentary Mating Strategy.

The old idea that people are attracted to their opposite is false and NOT true.

The other idea that people look for someone like them is NOT ALWAYS true, but sometimes true, and only true when they have a good self esteem and have a good self image of who they are as a person. That strategy is probably healthier from a psychological point of view, since the individual already has a good self image, but I would propose that for many people, if not most people, at their core, they secret perfect life partner and mate is a person which will be based on the Complimentary Mating Strategy

This phenomena will not just explain why short men go crazy over tall women and short women go crazy over short men. This will also explain why say the less educated female/male would always be looking for an overeducated male/female to marry and date to make themselves feel worthy and a good enough person since they have insecurities over their own intelligence. This is also why a financially weak person would only look for a rich person to marry and not settle for anyone except the super rich.

Something that sort of crossed my mind just today while I was doing something else was to think back to a statement made by my gf recently about the fact that not only does she like tall men to date, but also that she wants to be taller herself. It would seem that in the recent few days, she has started to express that idea in a more frequent fashion. If we are riding on an escalator, she would get one step higher so that we are at least within reasonable eye level. Interestingly, I can think from the top of my head the fact that 95% of all the females I have known in my life have expressed the desire to be taller or wished for a taller boyfriend/husband.

I propose the psychological conjecture that “People who are short themselves and only choose to date tall people of the opposite sex are probably secretly desiring to be tall themselves“.

There is a well known pop psychology idea that often in life, the person we become attracted to is neither similar to us in terms of traits or personality or completely the opposite, but who compliments us in terms of characteristics and traits.

This suggest that many, if not most people may not be looking for someone who is like them, or opposite to them, but a person who can fulfill the areas of deficiency which they feel insecure in.

It is well known that females in general prefer taller men, but how can we explain the fact the BOTH short and tall females prefer taller men but for men, their preferences are dimorphic in nature, with some liking petite girls and others like them tall and “amazon-like”.

There is one generally well accepted principle which is that for most heterosexual based human couples, the male is taller than the female.

It would seem reasonable using general principles to say that girls who are tall want tall men, but especially men taller than them. a girl who is 5′ 10″ would probably want a man who is at least 6’1″ – 6’2″.

For short females, one would accept that they would want average height males due to having a good height ratio but that often does not seem to be the case, but also choose the tall males. So both a girl who is 5′ 2″ and another girl who is 5′ 10″ will both choose the male who is 6′ 2″, not the average height male who is 5′ 9″.

As a guy, who has had his share of conversations with women, who are the selectors of mating partners, talking about the issue and role of height towards initial attraction towards men, I have never found the reasons, rationalizations, and justifications shorter than average females give on why they also choose the tall guy reasonable, at least the ones which suggest a sociological or cultural basis. I suspect at this point the issue is more primitive, and anthropology. Sure, there is always an element of culture and society which will influence our biases, beliefs, and values but the preference towards taller individuals by a large percentage of any ethnic group suggest that it is instinctual.

So why do shorter than average girls/boys seem to go crazy over the taller or tallest individuals of the opposite sex?

Note: It seems that also in same-sex dating dynamics, height is also just as important, at least among males.

The easiest answer would be that they are insecure about their height and want to overcompensate for their lack of stature by choosing a mate who can have the size (and possible genes) to compensate and overcompensate for their lack of size if they should eventually choose to (or accidentally) have children.

I know plenty of people who are crazy about height (me included) and insist that tall stature is a huge factor on their choice in dating and mating. I personally may be crazy on doing the research but as a heterosexual male, I am not that picky about my partner’s size too much, although so many people, but especially females have big hang-ups about that.

However, I woud like to take that guess slightly further and say that it is possible that the women who are shorter than average secretly wish to be tall themselves. Not only for the women, but also the short men who seem to prefer to only date tall women.

Anecdotally, I have heard short asian males secretly say that the ultimate trophy girlfriend or wife is to get a tall white female. I have heard short asian females try everything to meet tall white european men. Of course those types of interracial dating dynamics can be just an issue of race, but I would suspect that it is more likely a size reason. I have heard of short females reject extremely successful, rich short males who are even surgeons for unemployed, broke men who lack social skills who are tall since it seems that height and first impressions are so important. Mating with a doctor will have its advantages in terms of financial resources but that can  not be translated to the offspring unless that is an inheritance. Great genes in terms of lower risks for cancer, good eyesight, tall stature, and no signs of baldness is far more permanent and is something that will always stay with the offspring, no matter how bad their professional lives and career are. If all we are are carriers of genes, and all of life is an elaborate mating dance, wouldn’t it make sense to try to find the most “fit” opposite sex individual we can to mate with?

However, how can we then explain the desire for so many short men wanting to dating tall females? Evolutionary, the result we expect is that short men would want to be with shorter females to keep the ratio between the couple reasonable. However, it seems that the reasons for shorter men can be both a sociological and evolutionary one. I would suggest that short men also are hoping that by dating and mating with tall women the height gene from the mother’s side will be passes on to their future children than their own. In addition, tall females have been looked upon for a very long time in most ethnic cultures for being “beautiful’ and graceful and are admired greatly. It seems that if a short male succeeds in getting a tall girlfriend, they get a huge ego boost in showing her off like what is known as a “trophy girlfriend” or a “trophy wife”. The concept of the trophy girlfriend or wife is that the romantic partner is not just for the other person to enjoy, look at, and admire, but also for other people to look at, admire, and maybe even become envious or jealous over (hopefully).

Humans have this desire to always be comparing themselves with other people and want to be better off than their peers to make themselves feel better about themselves. This need to make the ego feel big and strong is very strong in humans. From getting the tall girlfriend, the shorter male maybe feels like he has won some type of cultural game or mating ritual in terms of “one-up-man ship” where he bested his peers. If a person has a better looking girlfriend/boyfriend, it is something that the attention seeking person would try to flaunt around to make themselves feel better. I would guess that very few husbands/wives or girlfriends/boyfriends are willing to admit this  but if they could have a genie and a wish to change their significant others in terms of changing something about them in terms of physical appearance enhancement, they would do it but would never say it in public due to fear of being reprisal and condemnation. Of course, that wish from a genie would more likely go to do an appearance enhancement on themselves than the other person.

Again, the idea is that we are more likely subconsciously choosing mates on who we think in our reptilian brain would make our progeny stronger. We are looking for our complement, the other half of us who we want to be with. They have the qualities we dont’ have, and probably can never have. So the next best thing is to make sure our genes and children will have the physical qualities that we will never be able to have, no matter how hard we try and work.

Anyway, this post is to really just throw another conjecture on how people think which could be completely wrong. Just my thoughts for today.

A Technical Review Of The Non-Invasive Limb Lengthening Ginza Kojima Device Patent (Big Breakthrough!)

This will probably be the last time I really take any serious look at this device or machine that is claimed to work in increasing the height of people in a non-invasive approach from Japan.

In a previous post “The Actual Patent For The Ginza Kojima Non-Invasive Limb Lengthening Height Increase Device Found, With Pictures!” I had shown that I was able to find the actual patent from a Japanese Patent database on the well known ginza kojima device which has been promoted and claimed to increase height since the middle of the last decade. Many people have talked about it’s claims and the ultimate answer was that it was either inconclusive or that it was a scam.

On some websites like on the Make Me Taller forums and the LSJL forums which have asked this question and I think I might try to answer that question completely and fully and finally put a nail in the coffin on this subject and device.

Here is the technical review below…

Technical Review

8The device is real and the patent on it seems to be real too. The company was visited by Sky from EasyHeight.com many years and ago and he, at that time studying pharmacology, had given his opinion that the machine looked legitimate.

The device is much bigger than expected but requires a human being to be strapped onto a rotating machine as pic

Under the section for the patent “Effect Of The Invention” , section 0009, I copy and pasted the important part below…

“Since the body reformation device of this application is provided with a leg holding fixture and the towage drive mechanism which tows it, in addition to each above-mentioned effect, there are the following effects.

(1) If an ankle, a knee, a thigh, etc. are held with a leg holding fixture and the leg holding fixture is towed with towage drive mechanism, the joint of the root of a knee or a leg can be lengthened straight and a twist of the body and distortion can be corrected. Height can also be lengthened.

Also from section 0010

“Since the body reformation device of this application is provided also with the jaw holding fixture holding the jaw of the user who lay on the back on the stand, in addition to each above-mentioned effect, it has the following effects.

(1) If an ankle, a knee, a thigh, etc. are held with the aforementioned leg holding fixture, and the jaw of the person on a stand is held with a jaw holding fixture when towing the leg holding fixture with towage drive mechanism, it can lengthen straight to a leg flatly and a twist of the body and the straightening effect of distortion are high.”

A video of the device can be found from a previous post “What The Ginza Kojima Limb Lengthening Height Increasing Device Actually Looks Like, Cool!” or to the official website for the device (link below)

Let’s note again that the only testimony we find from the actual Ginza Kojima website is from a man named Mr. Rashid who is from Bangladesh. The people notes that while he wants to get 10 cms, he only got a little less than 4 cm.

“I am Mohammed Mamunur Rashid….I am a student of Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. I found this clinic name through internet and personally. I met with Mr. Kojima and doing height lengthening program clinic here in Japan Ginza Tokyo. I have already gained this program from 162cm to 165.8cm.”

Note the fact that the guy got exactly 3.8 cm, which converts to exactly ~ 1.496 inches. That is indeed a height increase. Note that the website calls their services “body contour correction”, not “height increasing services”.

In general, I have found that most Japanese are honest in their efforts and business deals and I do not wish to insult someone by claiming they are a scam. This device does not appear to be a claim. It is legitimate.

Technical Analysis

Here is why the device actually seems to really work…

Note that the website gives prices for 1-3 cm but adds an incredible amount for each additional cm, being around 1,500,000 yen per 1 centimeter for additional charge(with tax). That is converted to around $16,300 USD for each additional cm.

The reasons are 5

  • 1. The device has one part that holds the lower legs & the tibia in place. – Ankle Weight Principle
  • 2. The device has a 2nd part that holds the person’s neck in place by pulling up. – Traction machine
  • 3. The device mostly has the person lying in flat down at an angled position, which lets gravity do its work. – Gravity
  • 4. The device is spinning, causing what is known as centripedal force to push the person’s upper body and their head further away. –Centripetal Force
  • 5. There seems to be some type of surgery to the bone, which I am not sure of. – Surgery??

The inventor has been very clever in combining the forces of gravity, centripedal force, the element of a traction machine, and the effect of ankle weights all together.

Gravity – note that the device does have the person most of the time have their head positioned below their lower body. The device sometimes swings back up (where the level of the head is above the rest of the body) so as the not get the subject to pass out, getting dizzy, etc. due to the rush of blood to the head. Have you ever tried to do a headstand for too long? The push of the gravitational force will cause a tensile load on the entire body stretching it out, elongating it slowly, effectively massaging or “remodeling” or doing “body contour correction”.

Centripetal Force – we learn from elementary physics that there is something known as centripetal force which happens when an object is spinning around an axis. I refer to the idea of a spinning swing like big circular platform one finds in many children’s parks where kids run in circles to push that flat surface to make it go faster and faster in circles. If you are sitting in the middle, the natural effect is that you will be pushed further and further away from the center. For the patent, you are held mainly in place by the fasteners on the lower leg. As the subject is being spun around, the centripetal force generated would push the ends of the body further apart, but very slowly, possibly correcting any spinal or vertebrate curvature that might exist.

Traction machine – from my research into traction machines, I learned that one of the two main types of traction machine is a strap one wears under the chin area to pull the neck up and correct any vertebrate problems in the cervical vertebrate area. (click HERE for a picture). This means that also the elements of a traction device was also implemented into this invention. The subject will have their upper back and lower neck area elongated from decompression.

Ankle Weight Principle – The lower leg is held tightly down to prevent it from moving around. The spinning is supposed to cause the joint empty spaces to expand, in the knee and the ankle. Note what the patent says “the joint of the root of a knee or a leg can be lengthened straight and a twist of the body and distortion can be corrected”. There is twisting, and from twisting it is possible to lossen the ligaments of the ankles or the region of the knee to get slightly bigger for a temporary amount of time. We must remember back to many trials by previous height increase seekers in using the ankle weight principles. Some have said that they have seen results but most have not.

Surgery?? – This is the part which I am not sure of which the people never go into. It states clearly from the main website that the workers will both get an X-ray on the subject to test their bone density but they also say that there is some surgery to be done. What that surgery is I have no information on at this time.

We can see that no bone was really being stretched, except maybe in the surgery part which I could not see or get any information on. The increase in height is from stretching out the spaces and cavities in the vertebrate, the knee and ankles joints.

Again, note the fact that the machine was probably not designed or built to be a height increase device, but a substitute or alternative to body manipulation. Alternatives is rolfing, chiropractor, the Alexander Method, stretching, yoga, etc. On the main website they state “Ginza Kojima gives our clients some advice on how to correct the bone deformity all over the body.” The machine was designed to correct bone curvature or any curvature in the body due to body alignement. This implies that it would help people with slight back curvature or people with bones that bend slightly due to ligament issues. Bow leggedness may be one bone disorder which might be helped using this machine.

The twisting of the machine makes the body more limber, stretch out, and be more likely to be aligned completely vertically. Maybe the researchers noticed that subjects which used the device for just body and bone re-alignment also came out 1-2 cms taller so they rebranded or re-marketed the product as a height increase machine.

Conclusion:

The machine will use many of the same principles we have seen before but what the Japanese inventor has been able to do very cleverly is to use many basic physics principles to give a person some real results. The machine does work, but so will Pierre Pozzuto’s A-Grow-Bics workout based off of London (read my review which showed that it is effective from the post “Review, Another Look At A-Grow-Bics With Pierre Pozzuto And Why It Might Really Work In Increasing Height“) This device uses traction, gravity, centripetal force, weights, pulling, and everything else combined to give most people a chance to get height increase. Note the fact that the website mainly talks about providing 1-3 cm of height increase, not 4 cm. 3 cm is possible from stretching exercises. From Pozzuto’s A-Grow-Bics class this journalist/reporter wwent from 5′ 2” and added 2 inches at least temporarily (HERE).

Let’s remember that scientists have shown that a person can increase their height by 3% when in space so that means that when the pockets of empty space like in the knee, ankles, hips, or intervetebral disk areas aree expanded even a little like by 1 mm, they do add to some real susbstantial gains. For most people between 5 and 6 feet tall, taht 3 % is around 2 inches of possible height increase if the disks in the body are allowed to decompress. It is possible that from the spinning and the generated centripetal force of the Ginza Kojima device the intervertebral disk pockets can be extended slightly further to say 4-5% of a person’s height if the person used the device for enough time.

However it is rather easy to guess that the height a person gets is probably temporary. What will probably happend to a person who gets 3-4 cms of increase is they loose around 50% of it. I remember cases of people who managed to get 2 inches from stretching but they would shrink down 1 inch when they did not stick to a program. Most subjects might not realize this issue when they do get the increase, until say months later when their bodies shrunk back.

The fact that the one testimonial we find on the website shows  a man who wanted 10 cm but “only” got 3.8 cm shows that this case was probably the best and most dramatic of all the subjects the people who used the device got. I am sure that if after the subject went through the device they got no noticeable height increase, the Japanese clinic might refund their money back. Or they might only charge however much the subject did increase by. If a person wanted 10 cms but only got 2 cms, they would be charge the rate for 2 extra cms.

In the end, this device has been designed to incorporate elements which has been shown to work before in other height increase seekers. Without looking at the surgery part, it would work to non-invasively increase height. The patent shows that the invention is cleverly designed to work better than most other devices and ideas due to the ability to spin the subject and create centripetal force. The high price of this device suggest that maybe we could go for something else, like Pierre Pozzuto’s program which is only about $200 and there is a clear refund policy.

The only issue that has not been resolved is over the surgery part. Tyler in a previous post “Kojima’s limb lengthening clinic review” said that the device gets the person’s lower leg bone, the tibia, to be exposed to green light to demineralize the bone but I have never fully accepted that idea or know where he learned of this information. I don’t see any green light being emitted, but only a large table with straps for the lower legs and the neck (like a traction machine) being spun around at a reasonable speed. I think at this point Tyler was wrong about his assessment of the machine, since it is much more different than most people would have believed.

If the surgery part is done for all patients, then it is no longer non-invasive. If however the surgery is done only on people who see no increase after using the device, then maybe the marketers can use a label like that. If the surgery is to pop open the knee joint slightly, then it would be dangerous for the subject. If the surgery is to to a distraction through making some type of cortical bone fracture, then the machine can probably move past the 3-4 cm of height increase that is only possible through normal vertebrate and synovial joint decompression. 2 inches or 5 cm is the maximum for almost everyone.

This device, if it can get even just 6 cm of height increase, even temporarily, for a subject without the need for surgery will prove itself to be the real deal. The surgery part is what is not known at this time of the exact details on what is done. The clinic seems to be real and the machine probably will have some success on most of the people who use it, to at least reach their full height potential by tapping into what I have called “hidden height”.

Why Did The Dinosaurs Grow To Be So Big And Can We Use That Knowledge To Increase Our Height

Something that I sort of forgot about since starting on the research was the fact that there are some clear examples of creatures and animals which have over the many years of Earth’s history increased in size. The best example are the dinosaurs, a group of reptiles which lived millions of years ago and grew to be the biggest creatures that have ever walked on land.

Some of the biggest dinosaurs were the sauropods, long neck and long tails lizard looking creatures walking on 4 legs. Currently the tallest, longest, and biggest sauropods are the Argentinosaurus which is estimated to be around 140 feet long, over 40 feet tall, and over 110 tons in weight.

From two recent articles I read,

I would wonder whether there is something important we as height increase researchers can possibly take away from looking at the example of these monsters from the past.

Here are the critical points taken from the articles.

From the first articles, the researchers can guessing that these could be the reasons how the dinosaurs could grow so large.

  • An increased level of O2 concentration on the plant
  • An overabundance of food
  • The respiratory system of dinosaurs had air sacs which made the body much lighter and even made the bones lighter.
  • The fact that dinosaurs as reptiles can have much more baby dinosaurs who were already fully developed once they leave the mother’s womb. The size limitation of mammals like us is because human mothers can only have maybe only 1-2 babies at a time, and after birth, it still takes many years of caring before the baby is big and strong enough to fend for itself.

I think it is important to realize that reptiles and fish have this ability which mammals don’t, which is “indeterminant growth”. There is no physical laws or hard bone contraints which keep them from expanding their bodies and get bigger. A good example are catfish, which can grow to be over 1000 lbs and over 15 feet long as reported by people from many parts of the world in the 19th century before mass fishing reduced their sizes.

The fact that the brains of dinosaurs are jokingly small means that the largest, tallest dinosaurs could have small heads and long necks relative to their large bodies. If the head of the sauropods were in proportion to their bodies like humans, the neck would snap and the dinosaur would die because the head and brain were too heavy due to gravity.

From the 2nd study, we learn more about how the large sauropods were like by looking at their anatomy and physiology. The smaller version of the argentinosaurus, the mamenchisaurus, needed 100,000 calories of food to keep itself alive and the way its teeth seem to be in form suggest that they only ate plants and leaves and they did not chew, but swallowed the food down.

It seems that the chewing is what also limits body size…

“Chewing limits body size,” Sander said, explaining that animals that rely on chewing, like many mammals, depend on big molars and muscles to grind up their food to make nutrients available. As an animal gets larger, it needs progressively more energy, and eventually this cumbersome system can’t provide it with enough calories.”

It seems that for an animal this big, they need calories and energy at such a high rate that chewing would be too slow to get the food down inside of them. What is more amazing is that the baby dinosaurs that hatch from eggs smaller than a soccer ball gain around 12 lbs a day and continues this rate for a long time. The researchers thus seem to show that at least a for a short period of the dinosaurs life, they are warm blooded and have high levels of metabolism.

Implications For Height Increase:

The size of the dinosaurs depended on multiple factors. I would guess that the main thing was that the air sac in their respiratory system made it so that the bones were lighter but still had the same amount of strength.

I don’t think it would be smart to try to emulate the reproductive habits of the dinosaurs just so we as an individual become taller. We will not be producing hundreds of fully developed, mobiel babies and be willing to accept the idea that only a few of them will survive long into to adulthood to reproduce.

Our eating habits and our environment may actually lead to taller bodies though. The issue of constantly eating, having excess amounts of food, and have a smaller head relative to body suggest that maybe have a smaller skull size or brain to the body will make a person taller.

The lighter bones is an interesting idea and it might mean that we should try to decrease the amount of calcium deposits in our bones to make ourselves lighter.

The idea of extra oxygen makes sense in terms of having more energy but cartilage and chondrocytes in general don’t proliferate in the presence of O2 excess, but actually in O2’s absence.
