The gut microbiome is well studied and there are a The gut microbiome is well studied and there are a lot of scientific resources put into optimizing it.  So there are many more ways to optimize it than listed here and it is likely that there will be strong advances in the future.  There are some studies that talk about the gut microbiome and bone length/height.  Since the gut microbiome is heritable and the first few years of life have a large impact on height, optimizing a mother’s gut microbiome is very important to maximize height pre skeletal maturity. 

The microbiome increases height by at least two ways via IGF-1 and by reducing infection risk.

Inversion tables are used by many height seekers b Inversion tables are used by many height seekers but the issue with inversion tables is that once the interstitial fluid flows from one end of the bone to other due to gravity there is eventually no further movement.  Every exercise that I have suggested that involves torsion such as baseball pitching, tennis, and arm wrestling also involves the rotation of the bone along the axis(inversion/eversion). We see this rotation in many exercises in the arm/hands such as wrist curls, curls, and shoulder press exercises along with many others.  However finding these exercises for torso/legs is more challenging.  Good mornings/decline sit-ups for the back.  Standing hamstring curls and leg swings for the legs.  Now people do do good mornings/decline sit-ups.  The question is if these exercises made people taller how come nobody noticed.  Cartilage is slow and has poor blood supply so growth will be slow so it is possible that people have gained torso height and not noticed.  The exercises that invert/evert legs are not typically done with heavy weight and are done by more casual gym goers thus it is possible that people have not passed the fluid flow threshold to induce bone length.  The arm exercises however are done by hardcore gym goers so they definitely passed the threshold if it exists to increase bone length.  Many people have larger hands/wingspan than their height.  So it is possible that many have increased bone length in the upper extremities due to these exercise types and not reported it.

This theory is in addition to torsional and vibration theory and Hiroki Yokota from Purdue has confirmed that gravity is a large component in manipulating fluid flow. 

There is also to consider that astronauts who are exposed to alterations in gravity in space are temporarily taller.

Could have contributed to height and wingspan gain don’t know for sure but it’s more likely to be a mechanical method.  I’ve been monitoring Lithium for a while but wasn’t that excited until I saw a new study that showed a 10% increase in long bone length.  It is in lab animals though so it’s possible that humans have a compensatory mechanism such as the body up-regulating GSK3-alpha that the lab animals do not have. Cartilage is much more easily deformable than bone and deformations are needed as fluid moves from areas of compression to tension.  However some force is needed as can be seen in chiropractic adjustment.  I believe that using a vibrating foam roller potentially with weights that are not as heavy to reduce mobility of movement could be used as an anabolic stimuli to the spinal discs.  It may take time for discs to rehydrate after exercises so it’s better to do less exercises more frequently throughout the day(think how you can’t crack your back or fingers without waiting a little bit). But constantly light movement is beneficial and avoiding prolonged static loading is key.  Since passive diffusion is slow height gains will be small but a small gain could have beneficial aesthetic benefits and maintain disc health. If it works it should be able to applied to other places to increase height but those other places will be more challenging as the hands have the best grip.  The sooner the results are reproduced the sooner it can be applied to other regions.  So I can either reproduce on myself and get growth to continue or others can try. Combined this drives fluid forces within the bone.  Osteocytes are highly responsive to fluid flow and can induce both osteoblast and osteoclast activity.  This could theoretically induce the modeling of bone into a taller/longer shape. Fluid flow from the bone would help enthesis growth as the enthesis as avascular.  Even if fluid flow only increased the nutrient supply to the enthesis it could still potentially increase the lengthening cap and make recovery faster.  Thus, things like torsional loading are not really only for mechanical driven height seekers but potentially for limb lengthening patients as well. Interstitial fluid flow is proven to drive osteoge Interstitial fluid flow is proven to drive osteogenic changes in the bone(in fact this is how microfractures contribute partially to bone growth as the microfractures alter fluid flow) and torsional strain is the best way to drive fluid flow in the bone.  All the anecdotal examples of bone increasing in length post skeletal maturity by a large amount are due to exercises that involve high torsional load forces like baseball pitching, tennis, rowing, archery, and arm wrestling.  Small changes in bone length may be due partially to articular cartilage endochondral ossification.  The change being due to tensile strain induced plastic deformation is unlikely as plastic deformation injuries of bone are very rare especially post skeletal maturity.  Although it is possible that plastic deformation of the bone occurs such that length increases.  Interstitial fluid flow can alter bone formation within the bone elastic range of the bone.  The issue is that bone is not thought to be capable of interstitial growth like cartilage so how would enhancing bone remodeling increase length?  So either the interstitial fluid flow would have to create a tissue intermediate like fibrous or cartilagenous tissue or the bone would have to remodel such that the bone would increase in length. I’m really focused on vibration on the finger testing as I seem to be getting better results that way and that leaves less time for tapping testing.  Vibration is basically automated tapping and it can work on the torso too it seems.  However, we may need stronger vibration stimulus.  Also doctors heights visits were measured and not self reported(some doctors just ask for height). Height was always taken at the same facility. Maybe a way to increase the cap of limb lengthenin Maybe a way to increase the cap of limb lengthening surgery would be to try to mimic the beneficial effects of dwarfism like FGFR3 and ERK1/2 pathway which although it’s bad for the growth plate is anabolic for other tissues.  Stimulating that pathway via potentially estrogen or other mechanism may be a way to increase the lengthening cap and alleviate post surgery mobility issues.  On the other hand it’d need a lot of testing to see if it could work. The ideal exercise for height growth will be the o The ideal exercise for height growth will be the one that occurs in the most planes at once with the most muscles activated as once pulling the bone in different directions.  Compressive force is only an issue in terms of shortening if it results in permanent plastic deformation loss of length.  Tensile plastic deformation to gain length is possible but putting direct tensile strain on the bone at the loads needed is difficult.  If bone has a microfracture for example and it heals by endochondral ossification that will automatically increase the length it doesn’t matter how the damage occurs.  You want bone stimulus.  Don’t worry about stretching the microfractures or anything that.  Just do exercises that have the most muscular activation, in the most dynamic fashion, and in the most planes at once. Fluid flow from the bone would help enthesis growth as the enthesis as avascular.  Even if fluid flow only increased the nutrient supply to the enthesis it could still potentially increase the lengthening cap and make recovery faster.  Thus, things like torsional loading are not really only for mechanical driven height seekers but potentially for limb lengthening patients as well. All the anecdotal examples of bone increasing in length post skeletal maturity by a large amount are due to exercises that involve high torsional load forces like baseball pitching, tennis, rowing, archery, and arm wrestling.  Small changes in bone length may be due partially to articular cartilage endochondral ossification.  The change being due to tensile strain induced plastic deformation is unlikely as plastic deformation injuries of bone are very rare especially post skeletal maturity.  Although it is possible that plastic deformation of the bone occurs such that length increases.  Interstitial fluid flow can alter bone formation within the bone elastic range of the bone.  The issue is that bone is not thought to be capable of interstitial growth like cartilage so how would enhancing bone remodeling increase length?  So either the interstitial fluid flow would have to create a tissue intermediate like fibrous or cartilagenous tissue or the bone would have to remodel such that the bone would increase in length. I’m really focused on vibration on the finger testing as I seem to be getting better results that way and that leaves less time for tapping testing.  Vibration is basically automated tapping and it can work on the torso too it seems.  However, we may need stronger vibration stimulus.  Also doctors heights visits were measured and not self reported(some doctors just ask for height). Height was always taken at the same facility. Stimulating that pathway via potentially estrogen or other mechanism may be a way to increase the lengthening cap and alleviate post surgery mobility issues.  On the other hand it’d need a lot of testing to see if it could work. The ideal exercise for height growth will be the o The ideal exercise for height growth will be the one that occurs in the most planes at once with the most muscles activated as once pulling the bone in different directions.  Compressive force is only an issue in terms of shortening if it results in permanent plastic deformation loss of length.  Tensile plastic deformation to gain length is possible but putting direct tensile strain on the bone at the loads needed is difficult.  If bone has a microfracture for example and it heals by endochondral ossification that will automatically increase the length it doesn’t matter how the damage occurs.  You want bone stimulus.  Don’t worry about stretching the microfractures or anything that.  Just do exercises that have the most muscular activation, in the most dynamic fashion, and in the most planes at once.
